Solar-assisted approach for the synthesis of nanoadsorbents for biogas desulfurization using wastes

Minimizing food wastes and finding a second life use for industrial residuals have become some of the top priorities modern society. This work considers spent eggs mussels shells, as well marble dust, raw sources to develop nanoparticles involving renewable resources in both their preparation adoption technological applications. Specifically, Ca/Mg-based were obtained by evaporating such physical vapor deposition system using concentrated solar beam explored high capacity H2S adsorbents purification biogas. The evaluation uptake performance fixed-bed configuration indicates that formation thick layer Ca(OH)2 on very small (<70 nm) inhibits uptake, whereas presence Mg phases (dolomite) favors its potentiation. Importantly, co-evaporation iron provides an extra amplification absorption due synergy Ca/Mg neutralizing character affinity Fe sulfur. In best case, from 10 %wt. reached 0.92 mg/g. yield is attributed oxides, Ca2Fe2O5, allow sulfide sulfate oxidation-adsorption mechanism.
